Learn to Ride Toeside

2020 | MACkiteboarding

- Step 1: Park the kite: Send it to 11 or 1 o’clock. Keep your hands centered on the bar and avoid flying it too high or across the window.
- Step 2: Twist and edge into the wind: Start turning your body while keeping weight over your heels and the board on edge.
- Step 3: Front leg pull, back leg push: Pull up with the front foot and push with the back to shift into toeside stance.
- Step 4: Transfer weight over toeside edge: Lean into the kite and shift your weight onto your toes. Letting go of the front hand helps open your body.
- Step 5: Square your shoulders with the board: Face the nose of the board and lean back while digging your toes in to hold the edge.
Tips
- Riding toeside is harder in light wind.
- Struggling? Get low by pulling your knees in to stay balanced and avoid catching an edge.
