We Are Ride (RideTV)
Last updated: May 9, 2026

RIDE.tv ("we", "us", "our") is a the United States-based company that operates weareride.tv. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.

We're a small company and we keep things simple: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and we don't use tracking cookies.

1. What We Collect and Why

2. Cookies

We don't use cookies for analytics or tracking.

Our analytics provider is Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and collects no personal data. No consent banner is required because no personal data is processed.

Cookies may be used solely for essential functionality (keeping you logged in). These are strictly necessary and do not require consent under GDPR.

3. Third-Party Processors

We share your data only with service providers who process it on our behalf. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data.

Provider Purpose Data Shared Location

All US-based processors operate under adequate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent).

This list will be updated as we add or change providers.

4. School Partnerships

If you sign up to RIDE.tv by scanning a QR code at a kite school, your data is given directly to us — not to the school. The school does not receive your personal data. We may share anonymised, aggregated statistics with partner schools (e.g. "12 students signed up this month") but never individual data.

5. Payment Data

We do not store credit card numbers, bank details, or other payment credentials. All payment processing is handled by our payment provider (Paddle), who acts as the Merchant of Record. Your financial relationship for the transaction is with Paddle, and their privacy policy applies to payment data.

6. Data Retention

Data Retention Period
Account data (name, email) For the life of your account, plus 30 days after deletion
Payment records 7 years (legal/tax requirement)
Email engagement data 12 months
Anonymous analytics 2 years

When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Data we're legally required to keep (payment records for tax purposes) is retained in anonymised or minimal form.

7. Your Rights

RIDE.tv is based in the United States but sells and operates internationally. We extend the following rights to all users regardless of where they live. These rights are also granted under GDPR (EU/EEA), UK GDPR (United Kingdom), LGPD (Brazil), and CCPA/CPRA (California) — and equivalent rights apply under other US state privacy laws (Virginia VCDPA, Colorado CPA, Connecticut CTDPA, Utah UCPA, and similar):

  • Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate data
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format
  • Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
  • Non-discrimination (California) — we will not deny service or charge different prices because you exercised your privacy rights

We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, so the CCPA "Do Not Sell or Share" right does not apply — there is nothing to opt out of.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

We will respond within 30 days. If we cannot fulfil a request, we'll explain why.

8. Marketing Emails

We send marketing emails only if you have opted in. Every email includes an unsubscribe link. If you unsubscribe, we stop — no questions, no "are you sure" sequences.

Transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, subscription receipts) are not marketing and will be sent as necessary to operate your account.

9. Embedded Content

Our site embeds videos from YouTube and Vimeo. When you play an embedded video, those platforms may set their own cookies and collect data according to their own privacy policies. We have no control over this.

10. International Transfers

RIDE.tv is based in the United States and sells to customers in the United States, the European Union/EEA, the United Kingdom, and Brazil. Your data is stored and processed primarily on US-based infrastructure. If you are accessing the service from outside the United States, your personal data will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards — including the EU SCCs approved by the European Commission, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, and the LGPD international transfer mechanisms recognised by the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) — to protect that data.

11. Children

RIDE.tv is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or a notice on the site. Minor clarifications may be made without notice. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
