La Dolce Vita is a new Duotone Kiteboarding short film by Noe Font, Gianmaria Cocoluto, and friends.
"In the wake of Europe’s lockdown, with travel becoming rare, I found myself reminiscing about past adventures. I was itching to get back on the water as Coco rode Lo Stagnone di Marsala, completely alone. After a long time out of the water, rusty and forgetting most of my tricks, I was more excited than ever.
I arrived in Sicily, picked up in a convertible VW. I had to dismantle my board bag to squeeze all my gear in, boards sticking up through the back seat—classic Sicily. The love for tradition here is undeniable, passed down through generations. Sicily embodies La Dolce Vita—a humble, authentic lifestyle. Small cars, preppy clothes, caffè ristretto, gelato in a bun, and la pasta al dente. Why change when things are so great?
Sicily had the least COVID cases in Italy, and arriving from Spain, I was struck by the lack of restrictions, making it all feel surreal. After being out of the water for so long, it reminded me not to take anything for granted—traveling, hanging out with friends, going to the beach, or having dinner. My goal was simple: kiteboarding. The first five days blurred together—wind, wind, and more wind. On the sixth day, I was relieved to see the wind take a break as my body couldn’t handle another 6-hour beach session.
It didn't take long to realize: Coco is a superstar. Everyone here knows him, and on the water, he’s a trick machine. He nailed all his tricks on day one in 10 minutes and kept it going all summer. If you haven’t seen his amazing content, check out his Instagram. Ci vediamo presto."
